Freeride

Freeriding is the royal league of winter sports. Whether in stormy weather on forest runs, in the sunshine with freshly snowed powder, or in spring time in the supple firn. Freeriding is almost always possible. Far away from the hustle and bustle on the groomed slopes, leaving everyday life behind, feeling nature and recharging your batteries. This is how freeriding becomes a lifestyle!

Ski

In the backcountry of Kitzbühel we find the perfect line for all levels and preferences:

The traditional off-piste skier loves to ski on open, not too steep slopes, on a nice carpet making powder 8s.

The sporty freerider, on the other hand, loves it a bit steeper to play with mid-length turns in the hilly terrain.

Snowboard

Closest to the surfing feel.

Snowboarding was invented in the deep snow by surfers. Not without reason is powder riding on the board the highest of feelings.

Off-piste beginner or freeride pros: the area of and around Kitzbühel offers all the right runs and is more than just snowboard able!

life is better going sideways! (Terje Håkonson)

Mixed

Freeriding with the whole family, with friends or as a company outing. Whether you are skiing or snowboarding: the right guide will find the perfect "line" for all riders and give all participants a memorable time together in the powder snow.

BACKCOUNTRY

  • Kitzbühel - Hahnenkamm up to Passthurn
  • Kitzbühler Horn
  • Neukirchen Salzburg
  • Skiwelt - Westendorf
  • Bichlalm - Insider tip: From the mountain station Bichlalm chairlift, we are brought to the summit of the Stuckkogel by means of a snowcat (a caterpillar with a cabin structure). From there we reach an incredibly huge backcountry and untracked slopes long after the last snowfall. - do not forget your skins!
Thanks to the natural geographic barrier to the north-west, there is on average eight meters of snow in Kitzbühel during the winter season.
Kitzbühel is especially privileged when it is snowing: many off-piste descents lie below the tree line and can therefore be skied perfectly even the weather conditions are less favorable.
If the weather or snow conditions do not allow us to go out there, we can elude to neighboring areas such as Weisssee Glacier, Königsleiten-Gerlos or even East Tyrol.
